Scheduling
Suggested cleaners when you book a job

When you book a sold or accepted quote, BlastoClean suggests the top three cleaner-and-time pairs, and picking one fills in the day, time and cleaner, but nobody is assigned until you book.
Booking a sold quote means answering two questions at once: who, and when. BlastoClean now offers an answer to both. It looks at who is free in the next two weeks, who is cleared for this kind of work, how far each person would travel and how full their day already is, and puts the top three cleaner-and-time pairs in front of you.
They are suggestions. Nothing is booked or assigned until you book or save. BlastoClean never puts anyone on a job by itself.
This is on Starter and above. Anyone who can see the schedule sees the suggestions. In the phone app it works the same way, in app versions that include it.
Set up each cleaner's Scheduling profile
The suggestions are only as good as what BlastoClean knows about your people. Open Schedule, select Availability and conflicts, and choose a person. The Scheduling profile card sits under their weekly hours. Days and hours still come from that weekly availability; the profile adds the rest:
- Max jobs per day. Leave it at No limit if there is no cap.
- Travel radius, in miles or km, how far this person should go for a job. No limit works here too.
- Cleared for: Residential, Commercial, Deep clean and Move-out. Without Residential or Commercial ticked, this person is never suggested for a booking.
- Home address (optional). Only owners and managers see it. The first job of the day is measured from here. Leave it blank and the first job carries no distance penalty.
Select Save profile. The home address is placed on the map in the background after you save; if that fails, the card says "We couldn't place this address on the map yet…", so check the street and ZIP.
A person with no saved profile counts as cleared for everything, with no daily cap and no radius. Nothing changes for your company until you fill one in. Profiles are set per person; saved teams do not have one.
Owners, managers and estimators can edit profiles. On the phone the same card is on the Availability and conflicts screen.
Suggested cleaners in Accept and book
On a sold quote, select Accept and book, or Book this job if the quote is already accepted. The dialog has a Suggested cleaners section with up to three options. Each one shows a person, a day and a time, a score out of 100 (for example "82/100"), and badges that explain the pick:
- "12 km from previous job", or First job of the day;
- "2 of 4 jobs that day";
- Rated for this job.
An option can also carry a flag, so you know what you would be accepting: Not rated for this job, Over daily cap, Outside travel radius, Clashes in later weeks or Distance unknown.
Choose one and the day and time fill in. When you select Accept and book (or Book it), that cleaner is assigned. You can still ignore the suggestions and pick a day and time yourself.
If nobody fits, the dialog says "No cleaner fits in the next two weeks. Pick a day and time below." If suggestions cannot be worked out at that moment, it says "Suggestions are not available right now." Either way, booking works as before. See Scheduling a visit.
Changing the frequency or the first-clean option clears the option you chose, so pick again after you change them.
Who should take it, on the booking form
When you start a new booking from a quote instead, the booking form has a Who should take it section with the best three cleaner-and-time pairs. Each shows the distance from the previous job (or First job that day), how many jobs that person already has that day and, for a weekly booking, how many of the coming visits are clear. If the job needs specialist work, the form says so: "This job calls for: Deep clean. Cleaners without it are ranked lower."
Picking one fills in the assignee, the date and the time. Nothing is booked until you save the booking.
Weekly bookings hold the slot for 12 weeks
When you book a weekly or every-few-weeks schedule with a suggested cleaner, BlastoClean reserves that cleaner's slot for the next 12 visits.
If that cleaner later calls in sick or takes time off, add an Unavailable block or approve the time off as usual. The held visits then show under Reserved slots with conflicts in Availability and conflicts, marked Time off, Unavailable or Outside hours, with Open schedule to go and fix them. They also appear in the Upcoming conflicts list. When nothing clashes, the card says "No conflicts in the next 90 days." See Crews and availability.
Scheduling weights
The Scheduling weights card, also in Availability and conflicts, sets how much each factor counts in the Suggested cleaners of the Accept and book dialog. Only the owner can change it; everyone else sees it read-only.
There are four factors:
- Distance from previous job (40 by default)
- Skill match (30)
- Room under daily cap (20)
- Sooner date (10)
Only the ratios matter: 4, 3, 2 and 1 rank exactly like 40, 30, 20 and 10. 0 turns a factor off. Three switches turn a factor into a hard rule:
- Only propose cleaners rated for the job (on by default);
- Never propose past a cleaner's daily cap (on by default);
- Never propose outside a cleaner's travel radius (off by default, so a cleaner outside their radius can still be offered, with the Outside travel radius flag).
Select Save weights. Changes apply to suggestions made from then on.
How the options are ranked
- Distance is a straight line, not drive time: from the cleaner's previous job that day, or from their home for the first job. With no home on file, the first job carries no penalty. A property with no map pin scores neutral rather than badly.
- Residential or commercial is a hard rule by default: a cleaner not cleared for that kind of work is not offered.
- Specialist skills (deep clean, move-out) only rank a cleaner lower; they never leave someone out.
- Room under the daily cap favors people with space left in their day.
- Sooner dates rank higher, within the next 14 days.
- Clashes in later weeks lower the score of a weekly booking.
- Each cleaner gets at most one option per day, so the three picks are never one person at three times on the same day.
Limits
- Suggestions look 14 days ahead. Weekly bookings are checked across 12 weeks. Monthly bookings check the first visit only.
- Quotes for a crew of two or more get no single-cleaner suggestions in the Accept and book dialog; it says the quote is priced for a crew and asks you to choose the crew. Suggested teams on the booking form still helps there; see Crews and availability.
- Calendars that could not be checked: a person whose connected calendar could not be read is left out, and the list says "Some cleaners were left out because their calendars could not be checked."
- Up to 40 active people at the location are considered. Read-only accounts are not suggested.
- Distance needs properties and homes on the map.
- The cleaner is assigned only once the booking succeeds. If the assignment is refused, for example because a clash appeared in the meantime, the booking stays unassigned and you can fix it on the schedule's page.
