Walkthrough pricing review

Mark a quote as needing an in-person walkthrough, or set a pet count that requires one. The quote cannot be sent until an owner or manager confirms the visit happened and reviews the price.

Some jobs are hard to price from a description: a home with four dogs, a hoarding cleanup, or an office floor you have never seen. A walkthrough review holds the quote until someone has been on site and checked the price.

Set your pet rule

  1. Open Settings, then Pricing & quotes.
  2. In Walkthrough rules, enter a number in Require a walkthrough at this pet count. For example, enter 3 to require a walkthrough for homes with 3 or more pets.
  3. Select Save walkthrough rule.

Leave the number empty if you do not want a pet rule. You can still mark any single quote as needing a walkthrough. The owner sets this rule.

Mark a quote

On the quote, find Walkthrough review:

  • Tick Needs an in-person walkthrough to require one for this quote.
  • Enter the Number of pets. Leave it empty if you do not know yet. If your company has a pet rule, an empty number counts as needing a walkthrough: the quote shows no price until you enter the number of pets or finish the walkthrough review.

When a walkthrough is required, the quote keeps its rooms and tasks but shows no price, and you cannot send or share it yet.

Book the walkthrough

Select Book a walkthrough visit. The schedule opens with the customer and property filled in. Choose a time and confirm the visit. The walkthrough visit has no price, so the customer is not billed for it. Booking needs a plan that includes the schedule (Starter, Pro or Business) and permission to edit the schedule. Owners, managers and estimators have that permission; if you do not see Book a walkthrough visit, ask one of them to book it.

Review and release the price

After the visit, an owner or manager opens the quote, adjusts rooms, tasks and price as needed, then:

  1. Ticks I completed the in-person walkthrough and reviewed this quote's scope and pricing.
  2. Selects Save office walkthrough review.

The quote can now be sent as usual. If you change the property, the customer, the pet count or your pet rule before the quote is accepted, the quote needs a new review. Accepted quotes keep the price the customer agreed to.

On the native app

In versions with these controls, open the quote's pricing screen for the corresponding evidence, review or first-clean card. The same role permissions and server checks apply. Owners can also open Dust evidence rules and Walkthrough rules from Settings; the web Settings layout above is different. Accepted quotes keep the agreed version. If another person changes the quote, refresh and review it before applying an old draft.
