Understand the first phase of visit chat, its access rules and lifecycle.

Job chat is enabled by default on Starter, Pro and Business. Plan entitlements and visit permissions still apply. The office can disable new chats; an administrator can switch the feature off in an emergency.

A confirmed visit gets its own chat at 24 hours before its start. The assigned staff and office can participate. Customers receive a private email link without needing an account. Treat the link as a password and do not forward it.

Mark the visit complete using the existing visit completion screen. The chat then accepts replies for 24 hours, stays read-only for seven days, and becomes hidden from customers and crew. The office can inspect archived history. A removed assignee loses access immediately.

Text and photos are supported. Starter includes 150 new chats per calendar month in the company timezone and 30 photos per chat. Pro has no monthly chat cap and allows 60 photos per chat. Business has no chat photo-count cap. File-size and upload-rate limits still apply. Free has a sample with no message writes.

Office staff can copy photos to permanent visit photos before archive. Archiving is not immediate deletion. Automatic retention deletion is not activated in this phase; do not promise customers that archived media has been destroyed.

All ratings receive the same public review invitation, where the company has configured a secure review URL. Private feedback is optional. There is no rating-based suppression of public reviews.

SMS, payment tips, AI summaries, push inline replies and realtime transport are later phases. Job chat does not send SMS or collect payments. Clients poll every five seconds while visible and every 60 seconds while hidden. Staff web/mobile clients save pending sends on the device for retry after reopening, and verify access again before sending. Signing out clears this pending work. Customer link pages keep retries only while open. Email delivery is enabled by default but requires a configured email provider and the company notification preference. An administrator can switch delivery off. Saving a preference sends nothing.
